LAGUNA – On February 12, 2025 the Department of Environment and Natural Resources visited Laguna University for the signing of the Deed of Donation of assorted logs. This event underscores both institutions’ commitment to promoting environmental education and sustainable practices in the province.
The signing ceremony took place at the Conference Room, Administration Building, Laguna University, and was attended by key officials from both organizations – University President Dr. Monette O. Bato, and Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the DENR-PENRO Laguna For. Venerando U. Garcia. The Laguna University’s Vice President for Administration and Assistant Vice President for Administration, Dr. Alex Macario C. Cecilio and Engr. Paul Gerard R. Lasangre Cruz, respectively, as well as the OIC for the Technical Services Division Atty. Ma. Carolane P. Gonzales, OIC Forest Ranger Ms. Joie M. Garibay, EMS II Ms. Danica Shery A. Dorado, and Project Support Staff Ms. Charlene Kaye C. Concio, were also present in the event. The mediation was headed by Ms. Jenneth R. Mondez, the Director of the Quality Management Office and Corporate Communication Center.
The donation of materials by DENR-PENRO (Laguna) will be used for the production of student areas: tables, benches, and study areas. These facilities will be installed in strategic locations around the campus and will be available for use in the nearest foreseeable future.
Laguna University and DENR-PENRO (Laguna) are well-positioned to ignite a wave of environmental stewardship and community involvement with this historic collaboration. They want to leave a lasting legacy of environmental stewardship that will help future generations by promoting education, teamwork, and sustainable practices.
