The Laguna University Community Extension Services Unit (LU-CESU), in partnership with the Laguna Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Office (LCCAMO), spearheaded a “Run for a Cause” on November 16, 2025, at the Municipal Grounds of Sta. Cruz, Laguna. The activity carried the theme “Small AKSyon, Big SOLusyon: Bida sa Kalikasan, Winner sa Kinabukasan!” and gathered students, faculty members, local officials, and volunteers in a unified call for environmental protection and climate resilience.
Participants assembled as early as dawn, expressing strong support for a cleaner and greener Laguna. The event highlighted both physical fitness and shared responsibility in safeguarding the environment. According to LU-CESU and LCCAMO, simple individual actions—such as waste reduction, energy conservation, and community involvement—collectively create meaningful climate solutions.
The program started with the opening remarks from Laguna University CESU Head Ms. Justine Faith O. Samson, who emphasized the significance of community-led climate initiatives. Runners then proceeded along the designated route, symbolizing the continuing effort toward sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Proceeds from the event will benefit GK Village in Gatid, Sta. Cruz, Laguna. With the support of partners including Laguna University, local government units, and volunteer groups, GK Gatid aims to help families become self-reliant, community-centered, and active contributors to a sustainable future.
Organizers thanked all participants for their support and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening programs that empower communities to take action for the environment.
