Service and Integrity Take Center Stage in LU-NSTP Leadership Symposium

Values of service, integrity, and civic responsibility were at the forefront of Laguna University’s Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) symposium titled “Empowering Voices: Leadership in Community and Democracy” held on March 18.

More than 100 NSTP-CWTS students attended the half-day event, which aimed to instill servant leadership and community engagement through talks delivered by distinguished guest speakers.

Dr. Christian P. San Luis, OSAS Chairperson of Laguna State Polytechnic University – Sta. Cruz Campus, introduced servant leadership as a model for modern leadership. “Leadership is not about power; it’s about service,” he emphasized.

Brgy. Councilor John Jerico F. Gawat of Masikap, Liliw, connected leadership with personal values and upbringing. “Ang pagiging isang mabuting mag-aaral at epektibong lider ay nagsisimula sa pagiging isang mabuting anak,” he said.

Dr. Mark Leo O. Etron of Gov. Felicisimo T. San Luis Integrated Senior High School highlighted the importance of integrity. “Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles,” he told the students.

The event featured interactive discussions, open forums, and a Q&A session. Certificates and tokens of appreciation were presented to the speakers. Organized by the NSTP coordinator and CWTS officers, the symposium reinforced LU’s mission to mold young leaders rooted in character, service, and civic duty.
