Sta. Cruz, Laguna — A total of 430 students from the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) were recognized for their academic and leadership achievements during Recognition Day 2025, held on June 16 at the Laguna Sports Complex Multi-Purpose Gymnasium. The event carried the theme, “Celebrating Integrity and Excellence in Tomorrow’s Business Leaders.”
The recognition program aimed to honor the outstanding performance of CBAA students and reinforce the university’s tagline, “Integrity Towards Excellence.” Alongside the students, the event also highlighted the crucial role of parents and guardians in supporting their children’s academic journey.
Laguna University President Dr. Charlemagne G. Laviña addressed the audience, sharing personal experiences as a parent and commending the unwavering support of families in shaping the success of students.
A standout moment was the recognition of KC D. Austriaco, a fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System (BSAIS) student, who was named the lone President’s Lister for the second semester of Academic Year 2024–2025.
“Masaya, at the same time nape-pressure and nahihiya, since this is my first time being a President’s Lister. Super unexpected siya, that’s why nagulat din ako lalo na’t nag-iisa lang pala ako,” Austriaco said in an interview. She expressed hopes that the recognition will boost her employability after graduation.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Alex Macario C. Cecilio, CBAA Dean and Laguna University Vice President for Administration, praised the hard work and determination of the students throughout the academic year.
Of the 430 awardees, 414 were Academic Listers from the four programs under CBAA: BS in Accountancy, BS in Accounting Information System, BS in Entrepreneurship, and BS in Tourism Management. Special awards were also given, including Best Thesis, Best Business Plan, Performer of the Year, Best in Practicum, and the Leadership Award, recognizing student excellence beyond academics.
