The College of Computing Studies (CCS) secured the silver medal in a high-stakes Sepak Takraw championship match against the dominant College of Engineering (COENG) during the Laguna University Sportsfest 2025. The finals were held on February 12, concluding a three-day tournament from February 10β12 that tested skill, strategy, and stamina.
CCS put up a fierce fight but ultimately fell short in a best-of-three match, with final scores of 13β15, 15β5, and 10β15. The game drew loud cheers from the packed venue as spectators witnessed a heated showdown between two of the eventβs top contenders.
The CCS teamβcomposed of Olivo, Remegio, Baisad, and Mendozaβdominated earlier rounds with an impressive winning streak against other colleges. Their cohesive plays and sharp techniques earned them a spot in the finals and the respect of fans and competitors alike.
Known for their standout movesβOlivoβs blazing kicks, Remegioβs smart setups, Baisadβs solid defense, and Mendozaβs lightning-fast offenseβthe team worked under the strategic guidance of Coach Mr. Luyon, who orchestrated plays that kept CCS competitive throughout the tournament.
Following the intense final match, Olivo remained upbeat, saying, βOkay lang, masaya naman. Babawi next year.β
Though CCS narrowly missed the gold, their performance demonstrated determination and teamwork. The silver medal stands as a symbol of their hard work and rising strength in Sepak Takraw. With this momentum, CCS aims to return stronger in next yearβs Sportsfest.
