RampaASEAN 2026 Showcases Freshmen Talent, Culture, and Sustainability

SANTA CRUZ, LAGUNA — First-year BA Communication students transformed the stage at Sunstar, Santa Cruz into a cultural and creative showcase during RampaASEAN 2026, held on the second day of Communication Fair 2026.

Organized by Communication in ASEAN Setting instructor Mr. Darwin Aguilar and the Communication Circle, the event featured 11 students from Blocks 1A, 1B, and 1C. Each participant represented a different ASEAN country through themed costumes and performances.

The runway presentation highlighted sustainability, as students wore outfits made from recyclable and eco-friendly materials. Designs incorporated cultural elements from various Southeast Asian nations, combining traditional influences with modern, environmentally conscious fashion.

Participants also performed short presentations to depict the traditions and identities of their assigned countries, turning the runway into a platform for cultural exchange.

Edele Stream Mendoza of Block 1C, representing Indonesia, was named Ms. RampaASEAN 2026. Her performance featured a creative interpretation of a dragon using sustainable materials.

Other awardees included John Lloyd Millet of Laos (1C), who received the Best Sustainability Concept Award; Paul Aaron Ponte of Singapore (1C), who earned the Most Innovative Award; and Anton Miguel Donayre of Cambodia (1A), who was given the Fashion Excellence Award.

Organizers said the event aimed to promote cultural appreciation and environmental awareness among students. RampaASEAN 2026 highlighted the ability of first year Comm students to integrate creativity, advocacy, and cultural understanding through performance and design.
