In a collaborative effort to bring vital healthcare services closer to the community, the Laguna University Community Extension Services Unit (CESU) partnered with the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the LU Medical and Dental Clinic to host a free dental mission on June 29, 2026. The three‑hour event, held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the University Clinic, was organized to address gaps in oral healthcare for local residents with limited access to proper dental treatment. Beneficiaries received free dental consultations and tooth extractions tailored to their specific needs.
Dr. Renee Rose Danjala‑Herradura, the university dentist, led the medical team alongside healthcare professionals and PHO volunteers. The event also highlighted the bayanihan spirit, with strong support from LU personnel and student volunteers from the Laguna University College Red Cross Youth Council (CRCYC) and the College of Education (COED), who assisted both dentists and patients throughout the session.
By the end of the morning, the dental team had successfully treated 18 patients. To extend the mission’s impact beyond the clinic, each patient received a free dental kit courtesy of the PHO, encouraging sustainable oral hygiene practices at home. Moving forward, Laguna University and its partners aim to continue these outreach programs to foster a healthier and well‑informed community.
