The College of Computing Studies welcomed the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students during the face-to-face General Assembly held on September 15, 2022 in front of the Oreta Building.
Spearheaded by the Information Technology Students of Laguna University (ITS-LU), the official student organization of BSIT students, the whole day event aims to unite IT students who had been separated by distance due to the restrictions brought about by the pandemic.
Attired in color-coded shirts, symbolizing their diverse yet unified spirit, the BSIT students gathered in front of Oreta Building for the opening program.
In his opening remarks, Dean Numeriano B. Aguado emphasized the importance of L.I.F.E. which represents Linkage, Information, friendship, and enthusiasm in their journey as they conquer their dreams.
On the other hand, Mr. Marlon L. Atanacio, Program Chair, BSIT, urged for the active participation of everyone to make the most out of the activity.
Since the BSIT General Assembly primarily aims to welcome the first year BSIT students, a number of activities were prepared to make them feel at home.
The dancing prowess of the BSIT students was highlighted during the competition participated in by all blocks. BSIT 4A grabbed the first place, BSIT 4B second and BSIT-SD-1A third place. Mr. Elson San Sebastian, Ms. Madeleine Palero, and Ms. Ghelieza De Luna sat as the members of board of judges. The jurors were non-teaching personnel from the different offices in Laguna University.
A competition designed to inculcate cooperation and unity culminated the fun-filled day of learning and discovery.
The event was hosted by Ms. Mary Joan P. Tajuna and Ms. Meca F. Ibarrientos, President, ITSLU.
