The Laguna University–College of Computing Studies (LU-CCS) conducted the CCS Summit 2026 on March 17–20 at the Rizal Re-Creation Center, bringing together students for a series of industry talks and team-building activities aimed at strengthening technical competence, leadership, and collaboration.
Held in two batches under the theme “One CCS: Connected Minds, Stronger Teams,” the annual summit featured discussions on cybersecurity, communication in the IT field, emerging technologies, IT service management, and artificial intelligence in development.
The first batch, conducted on March 17–18, started with welcoming remarks from Acting CCS Dean Joselle A. Banocnoc, who emphasized the college’s commitment to preparing students for the demands of the technology industry and encouraging adaptability in the workplace. Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Marlon L. Atanacio followed with an inspirational message. Dr. Atanacio highlighted the importance of exposure beyond the classroom.
Among the speakers, Project Development Officer II Des’Ree Joy D. Lechuga of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region IV-A discussed cybersecurity awareness, stressing the increasing risks associated with the growing number of social media users. She stressed that no individual is exempt from cyber threats and encouraged responsible online behavior.
On the second day, BCSC Program Chair Ronnie V. Edec welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of shared learning and innovation within the computing community. Juan Miguel A. Adao, faculty member of LU-CAS and content creator, discussed the role of interpersonal communication in building trust, resolving conflicts, and improving productivity in the IT profession.
The session concluded with MSI Philippines Commercial Sales Manager Antonius Malabanan, who presented recent advancements in computer technology, including the Neural Processing Unit (NPU). He reminded the students to use artificial intelligence responsibly.
The second batch, held on March 19–20, continued the discussions with new participants. BSIT alumnus Myths Ryan Arquiza, now a Global IT Service Operations Specialist, demonstrated IT service management processes using the ServiceNow platform, showing the lifecycle of support tickets in real-world operations.
Senior Laravel Developer Manolito Isles followed with a discussion on artificial intelligence in web application development, emphasizing that AI enhances rather than replaces developers. He introduced tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor IDE, Vercel AI SDK, and Supabase to support coding and project development.
The summit concluded with closing remarks from Overall Chair Patrecia L. Toledo, who thanked organizers and participants and encouraged students to continuously learn and adapt in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
The CCS Summit 2026 forms part of Laguna University’s efforts to develop industry-ready graduates by providing opportunities for experiential learning, professional exposure, and strengthened peer collaboration.
