Laguna University’s Records Management Office (RMO) proudly hosted a transformative seminar titled “From Lessons to Legacy: Re-Echoing the Power of Proper Records Management” on October 30, 2025, from 8:00AM to 12:00PM at the Conference Room, Administration Building, Laguna Sports Complex, Bubukal, Santa Cruz, Laguna. The half-day event gathered records management personnel and coordinators, to revisit best practices and elevate the standards of documentation across departments.
Assistant Director of RMO, Ms. Jenneth R. Mondez delivered the first talk titled, “ISO in Records Management: Revisit of Records Creation & Maintenance Phases” which emphasized the importance of aligning university practices with international standards. The session explored the lifecycle of records—from creation to maintenance—highlighting how proper documentation supports transparency, efficiency, and institutional memory.
Ms. Agnes G. Ycogo, Director of RMO, delivered the second and last talk of the seminar focusing on the “Records Disposition Phase”. This discussed the final stage of the records lifecycle, focusing on retention schedules, disposal protocols, and the ethical responsibility of preserving institutional knowledge.
This seminar reaffirmed Laguna University’s dedication to proper records management—an essential pillar of transparency, accountability, efficiency, and institutional legacy. Through shared knowledge and collaboration, the Records Management Office continues to shape a future where every document reflects integrity and progress.
