LU Conducts New Students’ Orientation for AY 2025–2026

Laguna University formally welcomed 3,113 first-year students and transferees during the New Students’ Orientation held on August 15, 2025, at the Laguna Sports Complex Gymnasium, Bubukal, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

Organized by the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), the orientation aimed to guide students in their transition to university life by introducing academic policies, student support services, and co-curricular opportunities.

The program opened with welcome remarks and the presentation of the university’s vision and mission by Dr. Marlon L. Atanacio, Vice President for Academic Affairs. Inspirational message followed, delivered by Dr. Charlemagne G. Laviña, University President.

Key discussions were led by university officials and office heads on topics such as academic guidelines, registrar policies, guidance and counseling services, the student code of conduct, health and safety, the LU Learning Management System (iLearnU), and financial services. An intermission number was performed by the LU Performing Arts Club.

In the afternoon, Ms. Emelyn U. Napiza, Director of OSAS, discussed scholarships and financial assistance programs, while Ms. Florencia S. Minas, Prefect of Student Activities, presented student organizations and co-curricular engagement opportunities.

The event concluded with “saLUbong 2025,” a welcome program spearheaded by the Central Student Council and the Recognized Student Organizations, showcasing student leadership and involvement.

Through the orientation, Laguna University reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing academic excellence, student welfare, and holistic development for all incoming LUnians.
