From Campus to Code: CCS Produces 135 Tech-Ready Professionals

Laguna University–College of Computing Studies (LU–CCS) proudly conferred degrees on 135 graduates during its 18th Commencement Exercises, held on June 27, 2025, at the Laguna Sports Complex Gymnasium. With the theme “Raising Waves of Change: LU Graduates as Leaders of the Next Generation,” the ceremony celebrated the culmination of academic excellence and leadership potential.

Ms. Amelyn M. Cubillas, University Registrar, formally presented the candidates for graduation. This was followed by the conferment of degrees and titles by LU President Dr. Charlemagne G. Laviña.

Graduates came from both the old and new CCS curricula. Under the old curriculum, 6 students completed the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) and 26 students completed the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT).

From the newly implemented curriculum, CCS proudly produced its first batch of graduates from:

  • BSIT with Specialization in Business Analytics (BSIT-BA) – 40 graduates
  • BSIT with Specialization in System Development (BSIT-SD) – 35 graduates
  • BSCS with Special Track in Data Science (BSCS-DS) – 28 graduates

Ms. Chrisna L. Fucio, Program Chair of BSIT, and Ms. Joselle A. Banocnoc, Program Chair of BSCS, respectively called the names of the graduates during the awarding of diplomas.

Dr. Jovyn Crisel L. Cuevas, CHED Education Supervisor II, delivered an inspirational message on behalf of CHED Regional Director Dr. Rogelio T. Galera, Jr., CESO III. Her speech emphasized perseverance, self-worth, and CHED’s continuing support for students through scholarship programs. She quoted Dr. Galera, stating, “Love is not just something you feel, it’s something you do.”

John Renden A. Laudencia, President of the Officers of the Graduating Class, led the pledge of loyalty, affirming the graduates’ commitment to service and excellence. Meanwhile, Louiebell P. Alillana, Cum Laude from the College of Arts and Sciences, delivered a heartfelt message of hope and gratitude, reminding her peers, “In LU, we are all leaders.”

Hon. Michael A. Reyes, President of the Laguna University Alumni Association, inducted the new graduates into the growing alumni network, welcoming them into the next chapter of their LU journey.

The event concluded with the graduates’ powerful rendition of “Unwritten”—a symbolic tribute to the new beginnings that await them. Their smiles and energy on stage reflected both fulfillment and excitement for the journey ahead.
