The CCS’ women’s basketball team ended their season with a bronze medal after a thrilling match against COEng’s team in the semi-finals of the 3×3 basketball tournament during the Sports Fest 2025 held at the Laguna Sports Complex Multi-purpose Gym, February 11, 2025.
Prior to their semi-finals game, the maroon shooters successfully claimed a spot to advance in the semi-finals after a nail-biting 7-6 showdown against COEd’s team. During this round, Esguerra led the team with her exceptional shots, setting the court with their team’s fiery determination. However, the battle was not a no sweat experience for the CCS’ team, as they went neck-and-neck against COEd, narrowing their chances to advance to the semi-finals. Despite receiving two fouls, the maroon shooters did not back down. Strongly making a comeback as Jomulo delivered a crucial 2-pointer shot, securing their team’s spot in the semi-finals.
“[Okay] naman intense ang laban. [Maganda ang] kinalabasan dahil walang away na [nangyari],goods sila kalaban. Congrats sa lahat!” Esguerra said after being asked about what she felt about their team’s triumphant victory.
Following their success in claiming a spot in the semi-finals, the maroon shooters faced a setback as they fell short in the semi-final round, facing the solidified unity and sharp shots of COEng’s women’s basketball team. Oraa–from the red ballers–became a hurdle for the CCS’ team as she delivered precise shots, gradually stealing the chance of the maroon shooters to advance in the championship round. Still holding on to their hope, the CCS’ team didn’t faze as Reyes and Jomulo succeeded in delivering their phenomenal 2-pointer shots. However, COEng’s team is indeed a tough opponent for the maroon shooters. The COEng’s basketball team prevailed in the end with a 6-5 score after Ilagan executed her winning shot, claiming their spot in the championship round of the basketball tournament. “Masaya po [kasi] naka-experience ng [ganitong] laro and malungkot din po [kasi] talo pero ayos lang [naman] po.” Oraya said after being asked about what she felt regarding her team’s basketball match.
Amidst their loss, the CCS’ women’s basketball team became champions at heart as they proved their relentless passion and burning desire to dominate the court. Their bronze medal symbolizes their determination and exceptional prowess, marking a laudatory achievement for the College of Computing Studies in Sports Fest 2025.
