LU-CCS Advances in ALCUCOA Accreditation

Laguna University (LU) marked a milestone in academic excellence as its College of Computing Studies (CCS) completed the institutional accreditation process under the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA). The three-day accreditation visit concluded with an Exit Conference held on November 29, 2024, at the University’s Administration Building, attended by accreditors, administrators, faculty, and stakeholders.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) program received commendations from Dr. Rejan Tadeo, the designated accreditor, who praised the program’s extension services and the Management Information System (MIS) that provides accessible research data for students and faculty.

Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program successfully retained its Level 2 accreditation status. Although it did not advance to Level 3, Accreditor Dr. Ryan Arago noted that the ongoing developments and commitment to academic improvement reflect the university’s dedication to producing industry-ready, competency-based graduates in the field of information technology.

LU Vice President for Administration, Dr. Alex Macario C. Cecilio, expressed his gratitude to the ALCUCOA team and the LU community for their collaborative efforts throughout the accreditation process.

Accreditors also acknowledged the university’s strong initiatives in social responsibility, recognizing LU’s efforts to align its educational mission with its broader goal of promoting positive societal change through quality education and innovation.

As the university awaits the final results of the accreditation, the College of Computing Studies remains committed to advancing its programs, supporting technological growth, and reinforcing its role in shaping future-ready professionals.

The accreditation process is a step forward in LU’s mission to be recognized as a leading institution among local colleges and universities known for academic excellence.
