BSCS CONDUCTS FACE-TO-FACE GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The Computer Science Department held its General Assembly last September 13, 2022 with the theme “Reconnect and Reunite in moving forward in the Digital Age”. The program took place at the Audio-Visual Room of the RLH Building, from 8 am to 5 pm. The program started with a prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and LU hymn. The opening remarks was delivered by Mr. Marlon Atanacio, Program Chair of the IT Department.

The Officers of the Computer Science Organization and the BSCS Instructors were introduced respectively. The CS Program Chair, Dr. Angelica Aquino discussed matters about the B.S. in Computer Science program and the possible careers in the future that the students may pursue after graduation. The guest speaker, Mr. Roldan Masongsong was then introduced and his talk focused on how a person in the digital era can truly reconnect and reunite. It was then followed by the awarding of certificate to the speaker facilitated by Ms. Jenneth Mondez, BSCS instructor. Then, a raffle using the wheel of names were conducted and prizes were given to the lucky winners.

During the afternoon session, the students in their respective groups were given twenty minutes to prepare. Each group presented a yell and created its own flag. The outdoor games commenced next which was followed by the awarding ceremony. Group winners were Algoriteam for flag making and group TEN for the yell, while Mr. Alvin Adefuin, fourth year student was awarded for BSCS logo making contest. For the outdoor games, Egorithm won first place, Algoriteam won second place and group TEN won third place. Then, the picture taking was done for every year level along with Mr. Ronnie Edec and Mr. Felix Huerte, both BSCS instructors. The whole day event ended with a closing remark delivered by the the President of the Computer Science Organization, Ms. Vanessa Tatel.
