SPORTS NEWS | Codera-Relevante Secure Bronze, Morales-San Victores Take Silver in LU Table Tennis Doubles

Laguna University SportsFest 2025 | February 10–11 – The College of Computing Studies (CCS) Maroon Paddlers delivered strong performances in the table tennis doubles events at the Laguna University SportsFest, earning a silver in the women’s division and a bronze in the men’s division. Despite falling short in the mixed doubles category, CCS athletes showcased determination, resilience, and competitive spirit throughout the tournament.

In the Men’s Doubles category, Art Codera and Renato Relevante captured the bronze medal after a 3–0 sweep over COEd’s Shane Arboleda and Daniel Llanes with set scores of 11–8, 11–2, and 8–11. Earlier in the competition, the duo fell short against CBAA’s Jeuel Gonzales and Nathaniel Taclan, with final scores of 12–10, 11–8, and 11–5. Thanks to their initial win, Codera and Relevante were given another shot and capitalized on the opportunity with a dominant victory to secure their podium finish.

β€œEnjoy naman kaso di masaya matalo. I learned something rin, like improvements in terms of playing table tennis,” Codera shared.

In the Women’s Doubles division, Hana Morales and Angela San Victores powered through the brackets to take silver, narrowly falling to CBAA’s Emilyn Orbia and Maycie Saloma, 3–1. The CCS pair rebounded with a clean 3–1 win over COEd’s Precious Pascua and Cherry Sion, finishing with set scores of 7–11, 11–3, 11–5, and 11–6.
