The Research and Development Center (RDC) of Laguna University successfully held a two-day Training Writeshop in partnership with Institutional Development for Higher Education (OIDHE). LU takes pride on being the first institution in the province that UPLB-OIDHE visited for the said training after the MOU signing last July 12, 2023. During the opening ceremony, University President-OIC, Dr. Colegio S. Gascon, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Rosemarie Sabado, together with Research Director, Dr. Marie Joy Q. Elomina welcomed the distinct resource speakers and attendees.
Teaching and non-teaching personnel of the University showed enthusiasm and actively participated on the said event entitled “How to Write A Publishable Paper.” Resource persons Dr. Greg T. Pawilen, Dr. Reniel S. Pamplona, Dr. Jenielyn T. Padrones, and Dr. Inero V. Ancho, shared their expertise through engaging delivery and well-constructed presentations on their respective topics. Each resource speaker also provided relatable examples, research inspirations and motivations that resulted in great audience-speaker interaction throughout the Training Writeshop.
After the two-day discussion, the attendees were encouraged to take some time for reflection, consultation, and writing workshop with the resource speakers. The successful Training Writeshop was wrapped up through the awarding of certificates to the resource speakers, and all the attendees led by Dr. Marie Joy Q. Elomina and Dr. Rosemarie Sabado.
This activity is part of RDC’s goal to strengthen the research culture, and encourage both teaching and non-teaching personnel to write high quality publishable research papers.
