PROJECT HOPE MARKS FIFTH YEAR OF COMMUNITY SERVICE

The College of Education (COEd) of Laguna University launched the fifth year of Project HOPE: Hakbang tungo sa Oportunidad, Pag-asa, at Edukasyon on September 13, 2025, at Raymer GK Village, Gatid. The program will continue with its final wave on October 9, 2025.

Project HOPE, which provides multicategorical services to the partner community, features initiatives such as B.U.K.L.A.T for literacy, S.U.K.A.T for numeracy, HALAMAN for sustainable gardening, and S.I.K.A.P for reading fluency and comprehension.

During the kick-off program, Raymer Village Coordinator Ruben Calubayan delivered the welcome remarks, followed by an inspirational message from COEd Dean Dr. Rosalie D. Buban.

Residents expressed their appreciation for the project’s impact on their children and families. “Nakakatuwa dahil andaming natutunan ng anak ko kahit hindi pa siya nag-aaral noon,” said Mrs. Drado. Another parent, Mrs. Poligado, noted, “Okay siya, natututo ang mga bata at natututo rin ang mga magulang.” Mrs. Gusi added that the project has brought significant improvement to their community since its inception.

COEd’s Community Extension Services Unit Coordinator, Ronnel Palasin, emphasized that Project HOPE has strengthened the college’s spirit of volunteerism and sense of responsibility. “With our hearts in everything we do, the faculty and RSOs supported each other as one, creating the best practice of community engagement. We truly embodied the PILO values by being responsible and reliable partners to the community,” he said.
