PAFTE CALABARZON gears up for the 21st century with annual seminar and quiz bee

Jose Rizal Coliseum in Calamba City, Laguna, echoed with academic eagerness on December 8, 2023 during the 15th Annual Seminar and Quiz Bee for Education students. Themed “Navigating Pre-service Teachers’ Challenges and Opportunities in the NOW Normal, the event organized by the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) CALABARZON chapter drew participants from 57 colleges across Region 4A.

Dr. Rosemarie D. Sabado, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Laguna University and PAFTE CALABARZON Chairperson, welcomed the participants and delivered opening remarks, highlighting the importance of continuous learning and professional development in the field of education.

 Hon. Roseller H. Rizal, Mayor of Calamba City, through his representative delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the crucial role of teachers in shaping future generations.

Dr. Virginia D. Akiate, Director IV of CHEDRO 4A CALABAZON, highlighted the necessity of remaining updated and adaptable amid the rapid changes in the educational landscape.

Dr. Jaypee E. Lopo, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Calamba City’, highlight the need to go beyond traditional methods, embrace technology, upskill and reskill, and recognize their multi-faceted roles in shaping future generations for the 21st century.

After lunch, participants were briefed on the guidelines for the much-anticipated quiz bee, divided into three levels: easy, moderate, and difficult.

The competition concluded with Southern Luzon State University emerging as the victors. The day wrapped up with the presentation of certificates to both participants and winners, marking the successful culmination of the event.
