Laguna University students, led by Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs), organized a surprise tribute event on October 3, 2024, at the Laguna Sports Complex Main Gymnasium in celebration of National Teachers’ Month. The event honored the teaching and non-teaching personnel of the university for their dedication and service.
The celebration opened with a message from Central Student Council President Eddanelle Occidental, who emphasized the meaningful role teachers play in shaping students’ lives, quoting, “Teaching is a calling.” This sentiment was echoed by Dr. Monette Bato, who shared that being a teacher requires deep empathy and understanding.
The program featured energetic performances from LUPAC and RSOs, including a theatrical skit titled “Bongga,” which portrayed classroom experiences and underscored the message: “Bongga sa Karunungan, Bongga sa Inspirasyon, Bongga sa Gabay, at sa Lahat.”
In recognition of outstanding contributions, Mr. Anastacio Cruz of the Human Resource Management Office awarded five faculty members for their excellence in teaching and presented three special awards to teaching personnel for their years of unwavering service. The recognition segment concluded with a ceremonial toast celebrating teachers’ lifelong commitment to education.
LUPAC returned to the stage with another dynamic dance performance, followed by musical numbers from the LU Music and Band. Students from different colleges then presented personalized gifts to their chosen faculty and staff members. A tribute video highlighted the theme, “The influence of a good leader can never be erased.”
The program concluded with an inspirational message from Dr. Rosemarie D. Sabado, who acknowledged the vital role of teachers in helping students successfully navigate their academic journeys.
