LU Red Cross Youth and Laguna University were recognized by the Philippine Red Cross Laguna Chapter – Santa Cruz Branch as a Gold and Silver Category Awardee. The recognition was due the organization’s contribution to PRC, and the National Blood Services Program for having collected a total of 122 bags or 54,900 cc of blood from January to December 2022. The momentous event took place during the celebration of Blood Donors Month 2023 at Metro Central Mall, Santa Cruz, Laguna last July 27, 2023.
The OIC-University President, Dr. Colegio S. Gascon who is also a Blood Galloner Awardee received the awards together with the OIC-Vice President for Academic Affairs- Dr. Rosemarie D. Sabado and Community Extension Service Unit Director- Joselle A. Banocnoc. Also Present during the event are Guest Speaker PCOL Harold P Depositar, Officer In-Charge of Laguna Police Provincial Office. The Philippine Red Cross Laguna Chapter Board of Directors headed by Dir. Jaime B. Ching, the staff and volunteers of the PRC Laguna Chapter headed by Mr. Frank Gray M. Sorromero.
PRC awarded their partners who had given a remarkable effort in organizing and encouraging volunteers in donating blood and who took part in achieving their mission of saving lives through voluntary blood donations. Also, part of the activity, was the signing in the pledge wall by the awardees, blood donation organizers, and partners as a symbol of commitment to continuously support blood donation drives.
