LU-JPIA Refreshes New Academic Year at BSA Reorientation 2024

Aiming to build a well-informed and united community for the academic year 2024-2025, the Laguna University – Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (LU-JPIA) organized this year’s Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) Reorientation themed, “Unfurling of Petals: The Flourishing Moment of the New Federation,” at the lobby of the Oreta Building, August 22.

Freshmen and seniors in the program gathered together to be oriented about the important matters relating to BSA and the LU-JPIA.

Ms. Judean Majella O. Monfero, CPA, MBA, CTT, LU-JPIA Adviser, and Program Coordinator of BSA, officially started the program by sharing her welcoming message and encouraging the students to stay motivated for their dreams.

“To all the freshmen, welcome to BSA and Laguna University. Just enjoy learning, and you’ll get there. To the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students, congratulations and continue the progress that you have made. Ang journey para maging CPA ay hindi nagsisimula sa review center, kundi sa pagpasok niyo pa lang sa LU,” Ms. Monfero stated.

Furthermore, the LU-JPIA President, Ms. Ma. Lourdes E. Valenciano introduced the new federation, the set of LALIHAN officers, and their roles as a student organization, as well discussed the retention policy of the BSA program, details about the qualifying examination, and the future events of their federation.

“Ang mga events and activities natin sa BSA ay organized by LU-JPIA, bukod doon ay ang mga officers [ng organization] ang mga tao na pwede niyong lapitan kung mayroon kayong mga concerns or katanungan sa ating program,” Ms. Valenciano said.

Several lectures were also conducted by some of the officers, mainly focusing on membership, finance, academics, non-academics, and audit presentations, providing detailed explanations that will be beneficial for the LU-JPIAns.

Following this, intermission numbers, games with prizes, and block performances took place in the latter part of the event, which showcased the talents, connectedness, and bond of the students within the BSA community.

The event ended with a group opportunity and the closing remarks of Ms. Valenciano, expressing her message of gratitude to all the people behind the success of this activity.
