SAN PABLO CITY – Sophia P. Dagunan, a 4th-year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) student from Laguna University (LU), emerged as champion in the Category 2: Business and Transfer Tax Quiz Bee during the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants – San Pablo City Chapter’s (PICPA-SPCC) 10th Bañagale Cup held on September 20 at the President’s Hall, San Pablo Colleges.
Dagunan outperformed nearly 20 participants from universities and colleges across Laguna in the three-round competition. She was joined by fellow representatives Lovelyn T. Villena and Maricar T. Del Rosario in the same category.
In Category 1: Income Taxation, LU was represented by Kheishe Vyen E. Oliva, Bill John S. Ballesteros, and Angela Mae M. Dimacali. The teams were guided by BSA Program Chair Ms. Judean Majella O. Monfero-Brosas with the support of Ms. Josie C. Jaime, LU-JPIA Adviser.
Although LU did not retain its 1st runner-up finish from last year’s 9th Bañagale Cup, the delegation recorded a strong showing and reaffirmed its commitment to future competitions.
