LU becomes the newest member of DOST-STCIEERD

The Laguna University is now a member of the Department of Science and Technology – Southern Tagalog Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-STCIEERD).

The University’s membership was approved during the STCIEERD Joint Regional Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Governing Council (RIEEGC) and Technical Working Group (RTWG) meeting on December 10, 2025, at the Holiday Inn & Suites, Lima Technology Centre, Lipa-Malvar, Batangas.

Dr. Norayda M. Dimaculangan, Student Research Coordinator, received the certificate on behalf of Dr. Charlemagne G. Laviña, University President, and Dr. Marie Joy Q. Elomina, Director of the Research and Development Center.

Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, President of Batangas State University – The National Engineering University, hopes that LU will contribute to proposing programs and activities that meet the needs of the industries.

During the meeting, Dr. Ronquillo was re-elected as the Consortium Chairperson. Meanwhile, Engr. Albertson D. Amante, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension Services, was recommended as the Consortium Director.

Furthermore, Dr. Ronquillo presented the proposed revisions to the STCIEERD Manual of Operation, which will be reviewed further by the consortium.

LU’s membership on DOST-STCIEERD testifies to its commitment to contribute meaningfully to the regional Research and Development (R&D) matters.
