The Department of Labor and Employment Provincial Office (DOLE-PO) , Provincial Public Employment Services Office (Provincial PESO), and the Laguna University Job Placement Office (LU-JPO) collaborated in conducting a Job Fair during the “Serbisyo Fair 2023” held at the Laguna Sports Complex last November 4 and 5, 2023. An estimated number of 400 walk-in applicants were present.
The activity aimed to provide employment coaching, career guidance to fresh graduates, and equal employment opportunities to Lagunenses.
Mr. Guido R. Recio (Provincial Director, DOLE-PO), Ms. Mary Jane Banasihan-Corcuera), and Mr. Tony Angelo C. Alvaran (Director, LU-PALO) initiated the preparation of the said event. DOLE-accredited companies were present to provide employment opportunities for the job seekers. Vacancies were posted outside the Multi-Purpose Gymnasium for easy access.
The Government Internship Program (GIP) and Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) were DOLE programs that were also introduced. Laguna University alumni were present for job coaching and mentoring.
The activity was able to help Laguneneses in job seeking. Students also benefited the activity through DOLE’s GIP and SPES programs. Laguna University alumni had the opportunity to be employed in line with their field of specialization. By 2024, Laguna University will conduct its first job fair exclusive for its graduates.
