Laguna University is poised for a significant leap forward as it convened a pivotal institutional planning session on July 29, 2025. This crucial gathering marks the initial, strategic steps in meticulously charting the course for Academic Year 2025-2026, laying the groundwork for a period of dynamic development and enhanced educational impact.
Under the visionary leadership of University President Dr. Charlemagne G. Laviña, the session is more than just a meeting; it’s a crucible for direction setting. Dr. Laviña, in his speech, emphasized the collective responsibility in crafting robust strategic plans that will not only address current needs but also anticipate future demands in the rapidly evolving landscape of education. Dr. Lavina underscored, “As we look ahead to Academic Year 2025-2026, we are reminded that our work must be strategic, responsive and transformative”.
Alongside this, fostering stronger cooperation—both internal collaboration among departments and external partnerships with industry, government, and the wider community—is a key pillar of the upcoming academic year’s strategy. Recognizing that collective strength amplifies individual efforts, these partnerships are seen as vital for enriching the learning experience and preparing students for real-world success.
While acknowledging the exciting prospects, the planning also deliberately addresses potential challenges, hurdles, and pitfalls. Dr. Laviña highlighted the 5-year Strategic Plan, crafted with insight, reviewed by the Management Committee, sets the direction that LU must tale. It focuses on the goals and purposes of the institution as stated in Section 5 of the University Charter i.e. widen educational access, foster research culture, build and promote institutional linkages, holistic development, advance professional training and equitable quality education. All of these should be translated into action.
The planning session also reaffirms Laguna University’s core values: unwavering integrity in all operations, a relentless pursuit of excellence in academic and administrative functions, and an enduring passion for service to the community. These principles will serve as the moral compass guiding all new initiatives and ensuring that growth is not just quantitative but qualitative and ethically grounded.
As Laguna University looks ahead to Academic Year 2025-2026, the institutional planning session, spearheaded by Dr. Charlemagne G. Laviña, marks a decisive and inspiring start. It signifies a profound commitment to continuous improvement, an unflinching resolve to navigate future landscapes, and a collective belief in the transformative power of education. With “one team, one mission, one goal,” Laguna University is poised to reach new heights, fulfilling its promise to its students, its community, and the nation.
