The Philippine Business for Education (PBED) and the Provincial Government of Laguna (PGL), thorough the effort of the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Youth Development Affairs (YDA) Office, and Laguna University (LU), conducted the 2nd JobsNext program. JOBSNEXT aims to minimize the negative impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the Philippine labor force. This is implemented by providing industry-relevant, demand-driven, up-to-date, and appropriate skilling programs for the youth with ages 18 to 25 years.
Existing JobsNext Local Pilots brought together Local Government Units, private sector, and academic institutions to facilitate training programs that are recognized by industry partners. A total of ninety-eight (98) Laguna University graduating students participated in this initiative. Representatives from all programs took part in modular and virtual trainings.
The training program was designed and implemented by multinational organizations. The two-month program started on May 29, 2024. The three major topics were divided into foundational skills, advanced learning pathways, and specialized training tracks such as Amazon Web Services, sales and marketing, customer service representative, Microsoft proficiency, and skills to succeed. Certificates were given to the participants who completed various training modules.
