LAGUNA UNIVERSITY ACHIEVES HISTORIC LEVEL 3 ACCREDITATION FOR THREE PROGRAMS

Laguna University (LU) has become the first local university in Southern Luzon to attain Level 3 accreditation for three of its academic programs and the first local university in the Philippines with the most number of Level 3 accredited programs as announced by the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA). The programs granted Level 3 accreditation include:

  • Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED)
  • Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in English (BSED-English)
  • Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in Mathematics (BSED-Math)

The announcement was made by Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega, CESE, President and Executive Director of ALCUCOA, during the Presentation and Confirmation of Accreditation Results held at the LU Administration Building Conference Room on December 6. This accreditation recognizes the program’s high-quality curriculum, competent faculty, and exemplary institutional practices, distinguishing Laguna University as a leader in teacher education.

The momentous event began with opening remarks by Dr. Rosemarie D. Sabado, OIC-Vice President for Academic Affairs, who set a tone of pride and anticipation for the event.

Atty. Dulce H. Rebanal, Provincial Administrator, delivered a message that reflects the university’s achievements and journey toward academic excellence.

In addition, the following programs were also recognized for meeting the ALCUCOA Standards:

Level II:
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship

Level I:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
Bachelor of Arts in Communication
Bachelor of Science in Accountancy

The University President Dr. Monette O. Bato delivered an inspiring acceptance message, emphasizing the collective efforts of the academic community in reaching this milestone.

The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Marlon L. Atanacio, Dean of the College of Computing Studies, leaving attendees motivated and proud of the university’s achievements.

The event, hosted by Mr. Elijah Jeremiah C. Abad, MSHRM, brought together deans, program chairs, directors, and both teaching and non-teaching staff, showcasing the steadfast unity and commitment that define the spirit of the Laguna University community.
