The Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED) program proudly held its first-ever Seminar Workshop on September 29, 2025, at the Laguna University Covered Court, with the theme “Enhancing Physical Education Skills and Leadership in Sports and Education.” Organized by the LU-Movers, the event marked a milestone in the program’s commitment to cultivating competence, leadership, and passion among its students.
The day-long activity was divided into two parts: a morning seminar workshop and an afternoon teambuilding session. It formally opened with welcoming remarks from Dr. Rosalie D. Buban, Dean of the College of Education, followed by greetings from Dr. Marlon L. Atanacio, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and an inspirational message from University President Dr. Charlemagne G. Lavina.
Two distinguished speakers graced the seminar. Mr. Evan Jesusco, Director of the Institute of Human Kinetics at PLSP, discussed effective teaching strategies and provided a comprehensive overview of the BPED curriculum, while Dr. Fredie Boy Sorromero emphasized leadership in sports and education, inspiring students with practical insights for their future careers.
In the afternoon, students actively participated in team building activities that tested their creativity, teamwork, and strategy. Laughter and determination filled the court as groups showcased unity, with Group 7 – Estra emerging as champion. Beyond the competition, the true success lay in the camaraderie and shared experiences.
The seminar was concluded with a closing remarks from Dr. Roberto B. Dionisio, BPED Program Chair, who underscored the importance of growth, collaboration, and commitment in shaping future educators. More than an academic activity, the event became a transformative experience—honing skills, nurturing confidence, and strengthening leadership as students prepare to become inspiring educators in sports and education.
