DREAMS DELAYED ARE NEVER DREAMS DENIED: FOUR LU ALUMNI BECOME CPAs

Some dreams take time. Some dreams require patience. And for four graduates of Laguna University, every moment of the wait has been worth it. On November 3, when the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the result, these alumni celebrated a long-anticipated triumph: earning the title of Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

The university proudly recognizes 𝗔𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗔. 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗼𝘆 (𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 2024), 𝗔𝗻𝗷𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗕. 𝗕𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮 (𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 2024), 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗔. 𝗖𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼 (𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 2022), 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗹𝘆𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗘. 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗱𝗮 (𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 2023) as the 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗣𝗔𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗮 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆. Alongside are two first-time examinees who earned conditional passer status, proof that their stories are still being written, and their chapters of victory are yet to come.

These alumni have proven that perseverance never goes unrewarded and time does not diminish a dream. Their years of study and dedication have led to this moment of pride and answered prayer. But behind each personal achievement lies the guidance of mentors, the encouragement of peers, and the steadfast support of family and the LU community.

Reflecting on her journey, Ms. Bautista shared, “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘺, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘣𝘺 𝘎𝘰𝘥’𝘴 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦, 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦. 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 —𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘠𝘰𝘶, 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴! 𝘚𝘢 𝘭𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘥𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘰 —𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘵!”

In October 2025 CPA Licensure Examination, Laguna University recorded an 18.18% passing rate, with four passers out of 22 examinees, while nationally, 3,460 of 10,171 examinees passed, achieving a 34.02% national passing rate.

As these newest CPAs step into the next chapter of their professional journey, their accomplishment sends a clear message to all aspiring accountants: hard work, patience, dedication, and perseverance will always lead to fulfillment. Dreams delayed are never dreams denied.
