LU-BSCS Decodes Knowledge and Discovery at CS Day 2025

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) students of Laguna University immersed themselves in a day full of knowledge and discovery during CS Day 2025, held on October 3, 2025, at the Laguna Sports Complex, Multipurpose Gymnasium. With the theme “CS Day 2025: Decode & Discover,” the event aimed to foster creativity and learning among the aspiring innovators of the Computer Science Department.

To officially kick off the event, BSCS Program Chair, Mr. Ronnie V. Edec, welcomed the students with his opening remarks. In his speech, he encouraged the first-year and second-year students to gain new insights and not only settle with the things that they have already accomplished. He stressed that innovation begins with the willingness to learn and improvement.

Afterwards, Mr. Lee Archelaus Agaton, the Vice President for Operations (VPO) of Laguna University-Computer Science Organization (LU-CSO), explained the overview of the event. This was followed by  LU-CSO President, Ms. Andrea Daniellle Liwanagan, who gave instructions and reminders to the participants before exploring the project exhibits.

Following this, the first-year and second-year  students take part in exploring the project exhibit presented by the 10 groups of  third-year  students. This showcased the innovative ideas and creative developments that exposed the participants to the real-world programming concepts and the boundless possibilities of technology.

During the afternoon event, students engaged in interactive game booths that sparked excitement and camaraderie. Exciting prizes and interactions filled the venue with laughter, highlighting the balance between academics and co-curricular activities.

When asked about her experience, Khatrina Khate Bravante, a student from BSCS-DS 3A,  one of the presenters in the project exhibit, shared, “I would say that students’  curiosity was the fuel to the event. The way they can feel the need to not be shy and ask about the projects or their worries really puts their interest into becoming a computer science student.” She also emphasized how the event ignited the enthusiasm beyond exhibits, adding, “As for the activities in the afternoon, you can really see the students enjoying the booths as well as playing as much as you want and getting prizes as you go.”

Overall, the event was deemed successful as it blends both learning and enjoyment. Through the knowledge-filled activities and exciting games, the participants were able to discover valuable ideas that they can use in their future endeavors.
