Celebration of Excellence of the College of Computing Studies Students

The College of Computing Studies (CCS) held its highly anticipated Recognition Day on June 29, 2023, in the AVR room of the new building. The theme of the event was “Empowering Innovation: Recognizing Excellence in Computing Studies.” The ceremony celebrated the exceptional achievements and contributions of CCS’s outstanding students.

The program began at 8:00 a.m. with a warm welcome from Nylton D. Chan, the Master of Ceremony, setting the tone for the day’s celebrations. Mr. Marlon L. Atanacio, the esteemed Dean of CCS, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the college’s remarkable accomplishments and expressing pride in the students’ success.

Dr. Rosemarie D. Sabado, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and the role of technology in shaping the future. Her words resonated with the students, fueling their passion and dedication.

The program featured two speakers who shared their experiences and insights into the industry. Mr. Joshua N. Caballes, a successful alumnus of the BSIT program, captivated the audience with his speech on striving for excellence and making a difference in the field of computing. Mr. John Ray M. Hestiada, an esteemed alumnus of the BSCS program, spoke about innovation and collaboration in the ever-evolving world of technology, inspiring the students to push boundaries and reach new heights.

The event also included a performance by the talented CCS Officers, who showcased their skills and received applause from the audience.

The highlight of the event was the awarding of medals and certificates. Mr. Marlon Atanacio, the Dean of CCS, recognized the exceptional achievements of the students, who walked across the stage with pride and a sense of accomplishment.

In her closing remarks, Chrisna L. Fucio, a faculty member at BSIT, expressed gratitude to the students, faculty, and staff for their commitment to excellence. She encouraged the students to continue their pursuit of knowledge and use their skills to make a positive impact on society.
