Leadership can take many shapes and styles, just as varied as the colors worn by the students during the CBAA Leadership Training and Team Building 2025. With the theme “Elements of Leadership: Building Bonds, Creating Harmony,” participants arrived in shirts of black, brown, maroon, yellow, light green, army green, violet, light blue, navy blue, gray, white, pink, red, and orange. Each color represented the personality and individuality of every student, yet together they formed a vibrant picture of unity and shared purpose.
The program began with opening remarks from the BSTM Program Coordinator Ms. Christine Cecille O. Fermin Raby where she emphasized the importance of understanding one’s purpose and reminded everyone that leadership is not simply a privilege. It is a responsibility that calls for intention, dedication, and sincerity. She encouraged the students to make the most of the day’s activities and view the experience as an opportunity to grow. This was followed by a short but meaningful message from the BSEntrep Program Coordinator Mr. Jerwin Andres Anas. Through The Story of the Three Trees, he showed that life and leadership often unfold in ways we may not expect. His reminder was clear and heartfelt: remain adaptable, trust that there is a larger plan at work, and be open to outcomes that may carry deeper purpose. A special message was then delivered by University President Dr. Charlemagne G. Laviña, who focused on the importance of having a clear vision as a leader. He affirmed the University’s guiding principle, “Integrity towards Excellence,” highlighting that leadership combines purpose, values, and consistent action.
One of the highlights of the morning session was the leadership talk by guest speaker Mr. Dean Carlo E. Derina. He presented the Ten Essential Leadership Qualities: vision, communication, empathy, integrity, decisiveness, resilience, courage, creativity, empowerment, and service to others. He reminded the students that genuine leadership is not about looking down on others but lifting people up. His talk offered practical ideas and inspiration that students could apply both inside and outside the classroom. In the afternoon, the participants took part in team activities where they practiced the principles they learned earlier in the day. Although the colored shirts served as identifiers for each group, they also symbolized the variety of strengths, ideas, and perspectives that make leadership meaningful. Through teamwork, problem-solving, and collaboration, students applied the leadership principles highlighted by Mr. Deriña in a dynamic and interactive setting.
A total of 207 students from the BS Accountancy, BS Accounting Information System, BS Entrepreneurship, and BS Tourism Management programs joined the event. The results reflected their enthusiasm and team spirit:

In the end, the CBAA Leadership Training and Team Building 2025 became more than a series of games or speeches. It was a day filled with learning, connection, and meaningful reflection. Although the Yellow Team claimed the overall championship and many individuals were recognized, the greatest achievement was the shared experience of growth. The event showed that leadership at CBAA is not defined by a single color. It is a wide spectrum shaped by diverse ideas, strengthened by collaboration, and brought to life through purpose and action.
