LU Confers Degrees to 140 COEd Graduates during the 18th Commencement Rites

The College of Education (COEd) of Laguna University successfully produced 140 graduates during the 18th Commencement Exercises held on June 27, 2025, at the Laguna Sports Complex Gymnasium. This year’s theme was “Raising Waves of Change: LU Graduates as Leaders of the Next Generation.”

The graduates included 49 from the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) program, and 91 from the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) program, comprising 35 majoring in English, 30 in Mathematics, and 26 in Science.

The presentation of candidates was led by Ms. Amelyn M. Cubillas, while University President Dr. Charlemagne G. Laviña conferred the degrees and titles to the graduates.

Dr. Jovyn Crisel L. Cuevas, Education Supervisor II, delivered the keynote message on behalf of CHED Regional Director Dr. Rogelio T. Galera Jr., CESO III. In her speech, Dr. Cuevas encouraged the graduates to persevere in their careers and emphasized the importance of self-worth, stating, “You must first learn to love and respect yourself.”

Leading the Pledge of Loyalty was Guro Awardee John Renden A. Laudencia.

This year’s cum laude, Louiebell P. Alillana from the College of Arts and Sciences, shared her heartfelt gratitude and inspired her fellow graduates by saying, “We just have to be with the right people.”

To close the ceremony, all graduates rendered a collective performance of the song “Unwritten”, symbolizing their readiness to write new chapters as future leaders and contributors to society.
