Laguna University Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LU-DRRMO) conducts a Fire Safety Seminar and Drill held on September 27, 2024 at the Laguna University RLH Building – Audio Visual Room (AVR) where block representatives from the College of Computing Studies (CCS), participated.
Dr. Alex Macario C. Cecilio, OIC-VP for Administration, opened the program by emphasizing the need for proactive measures to ensure the safety of students and staff, and encouraged active participation.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Sta. Cruz, Laguna led the event, providing education on common causes of fire, essential fire safety practices, and increasing awareness of fire hazards. The BFP conducted lectures on the effective use of fire safety equipment, familiarization with evacuation routes, identification of potential fire risks, and strategies to reduce the likelihood of fire incidents. Participants were also instructed on the importance of knowing the location of emergency exits, evacuation routes, and designated assembly points.
The BFP team conducted a hands-on demonstration of fire extinguisher use, allowing participants to practice proper operation of the equipment. The event concluded with an open forum where participants raised questions and concerns, and organizers expressed gratitude to the attendees, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing fire safety.
