On May 31, 2023, representatives from Laguna University and Brgy. Tibatib, Cavinti Laguna convened at the Barangay Hall of Barangay Tibatib for the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
CESU Director, Ms. Joselle A. Banocnoc, CBAA Dean, Dr. Alex Macario C. Cecilio, Former CBAA Dean, Dr. Norayda M. Dimaculangan, CBAA faculty members, Hon. Roldan O. Villegas and members of the sanggunian graced the said event. Also present were representatives from the Laguna University College of Engineering, who presented a machine that can be utilized by residents to improve their livelihoods.
CBAA’s programs will address the actual needs of Barangay Tibatib in accordance with the KAAKBAY Agenda, which supports the eight-point program of the Provincial Government of Laguna and the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals which includes environmental stewardship, livelihood and skills development, tourism promotion, and cultural awareness.
This partnership signifies the strong will of cooperation, facilitation, and implemention of community extension programs. Together, Laguna University and Barangay Tibatib will be able to share their resources to help the community by facilitating a more holistic approach to the community. Both parties will work together to identify problem areas and complete their respective initiatives successfully.
This just proves that Laguna University is certain to uphold and promote community extension as one of the tri-fold functions of a higher educational institution.
