Pandan Presser and Slitter Machine Designed by LU-BSME is Now Ready for Utilization

One of Laguna University’s goal is to initiate programs that provide support to local communities, especially in the context of livelihood and social services. LU Community Extension Services Unit (LUCESU), together with the university’s Research and Development Center (RDC), and College of Engineering (COE) arranged the Ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing activity last October 20, 2023 with the Brgy. Officials of Tibatib, Cavinti Laguna.

Representatives from LU namely, Engr. Paul Gerard R. Lasangre-Cruz – College of Engineering Dean, Engr. Joebert S. Melendrez – BSME Program Coordinator, Engr. Gaious Joe L. Bautista, Engr.  Joshua A. Germina, Engr. Miko Anderson P. Yjares, Engr. Julian Carl A. Barias, Dr. Marie Joy Q. Elomina – RDC Director, and Ms. Joselle A. Banocnoc – CESU Director together with Brgy. Captain Roldan Villegas, and Brgy. Councilor Ronald Ramos joined the MOA signing activity, and shared their enthusiasm about the deployment and utilization of the Pandan Presser and Slitter Machine in the community.

Part of the memorandum of agreement is the orientation and training for community members of Brgy. Tibatib on how to effectively use the Pandan Presser and Slitter Machine. The deployment and utilization of the machine designed by LU-BSME is part of the research and community extension program of the university that aims to extend its resources, knowledge, and assistance to the chosen community and bridge the gap between educational and research institutions and the communities they serve.
