The Laguna University College of Education Accountable Child Educator (COED ACE), in collaboration with the Community Extension Services Unit (CESU) and Magdalena Pintong Pilak Lion’s Club conducted an outreach activity with the theme: ACE Time for Giving and Sharing at Bungkol Elementary School, Brgy. Bungkol, Magdalena, Laguna on February 17, 2023.
The activity started with an opening prayer lead by Ms. Abigail Javier, COED ACE 1st Year Representative. This was followed by one of the highlights of the event which is the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between LU CESU and Magdalena Pintong Pilak Lion’s Club as its partner in outreach and community extension activities and Bungkol ES as its Adopted School. The activity was formally welcomed by the School Principal – Ms. Ma. Lourdes Z. Timbreza emphasizing a quote from Helen Keller- “It Takes A Village to Educate A Child”. The school need partners to hone and develop the students and they are very thankful to Laguna University for choosing Bungkol ES as one of its adopted community under the Adopt-A-School Program.
With the genuine support and contribution of the BEEd students, officers of COED ACE and guidance of their advisers Mr. Mark Stephen A. Ravelas, Ms. Leah E. Perez and Mrs. Arlene L. Sandoval they were able to distribute 50 packs of hygiene kits to the learners. COED ACE also donated reading materials, flash cards and mats for library use. Magdalena Pintong Pilak Lion’s Club as a new partner of Laguna University Community Extension Services also gave vitamins and snacks to the students.
COED ACE is one of the Recognized Student Organizations (RSO) in the College of Education.
