The College of Education ended the two-year on-screen events with its 2022 on-site General Assembly dubbed as COED Day with the theme “COED As ONE” held at Laguna Sports Complex Gymnasium on September 16, 2022, Friday.
The activity aims to welcome the new and continuing students to the Laguna University College of Education and to prepare them as they return to the normal face to face school set-up.
COED Day commenced with a blazing parade from the RLH Building to the main venue.
Dr. Mayra Christina Ambrocio, Associate Dean of the College of Education, officially opened the event and welcomed the new students. It was followed by the Roll Call of all programs facilitated by Ms. Leah E. Perez, Program Chair, BSED.
A motivational talk was delivered Dr. Jean N. Lopo of Toastmasters International. Dr. Lope emphasized the traits of a true leader and a good communicator, coupled with humor. The would-be-teachers actively participated and interacted during the session, coupled with games and stories. The guest speaker emphasized the three most essential character traits one should possess. These are, moral, academic, and professional.
Included in the morning activities were the Yell and Flag Making and Lead Your Team while the afternoon session featured the search for Mr. and Ms. COED 2022. Mr. Nathan Daniel Sison, Mr. Efren Mayani, Ms. Rhodora Custodio, and Ms. Samantha Mendoza sat as the panel of judges for the said search.
With the assistance of the Bureau of Fire – Santa Cruz Branch headed by FNSP Mark Anthony M. Manarin, the Splash of Welcome was conducted in front of the Athletes’ Village Building.
The event concluded with a reflection facilitated by Ms. Josephine Bermudez, and the closing remarks of Mr. Carlo H. Joquino, COED Mentors President.
