The Laguna University College of Computing Studies (CCS) joined IT Skills Olympics 2022 hosted by the University of Makati (UMak), Makati City, last November 11, 2022.
With the theme “ICT at the Convergence of Education and Technology in the HyFlex World, this year’s battle of IT enthusiasts was an opportunity to test, measure and promote students’ IT skills and abilities which are reflective of the good quality of education provided by the university.
The Laguna University delegation joined 2 online competitions namely Java Programming and C# Programming. Mr. Ron Henrick Parungao landed 2nd Runner-up in Java Programming category.
For the onsite competitions, LU was represented by:
Ms. Abigail Hernandez, who made it to the Top 10 in the IT Quiz Bee.
Mr. Fahad Evio, Mr. Reinier Castro, Mr. Davonn Melecio, Mr. Marc Airon Cantal and Mr. Cris Dale Valenzuela were LU’s bet for the E-Sports (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang). The team made it to Semi-Final Round of the competition.
Mr. Arnold Celis vied for the PC Disassembly and Assembly category.
Ms. Meca Ibarrientos hurdled the Computer Networking.
Ms. Patricia Toledo gave it all in Web Design category.
Tasked to identify and hone LU students with extraordinary IT skills were their coaches; Mr. Kim Ritardo for Java Programming; Mr. Felix Huerte Jr. for the IT Quiz Bee; Mr. Jeruz Claudel for E-Sports (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang); Mr. Nylton Chan for C# Programming; Mr. Ronnie Edec for PC Disassembly and Assembly; Mr. Christian Tantan, for Computer Networking; Mr. Ren Santos for Web Design.
The 11th IT Skills Olympics 2022 was participated in by 35 Colleges and Universities from all over the country.
