The spot where the anticipated Laguna University Administration Building is soon to rise has been officially demarcated during a Ground Breaking Ceremony held last February 15, 2021 as a leg of the festivities within the week-long 15th Founding Anniversary Celebration of the institution.
Hon. Gov. Ramil L. Hernandez graced the momentous event with his presence and delivered a high-spirited congratulatory message in which he also divulged that in line with his mission of organizing government facilities in the provincial capitol and in the sports complex, the building is a part of a grand masterplan to create a school compound for Laguna University.
Supervised by Engr. Pablo V. Del Mundo Jr., Head of the Provincial Engineering Office, the project is aimed at establishing an exclusive zone where students, teachers, and staff can be safer and more secure. To top it all off, the Governor also revealed that a road widening in the exit gate of the sports complex is in the works to ease vehicular traffic and provide an alternative route for those bound to LU in the event that there is an ongoing activity in the area.
Upon establishment, the administration building is to house the Registrar’s Office, Cashier’s Office, Clinic, Research and Development Center, Extension Office, Conference Room, and the University Official’s Offices.
“Ngayon ay mag fi-fiffteen years na tayo. Congratulations po sa inyong lahat! Mabuhay po tayo dahil napakaganda ng direksyon na ating tinatahak at lahat ng iyan ay dahil sa ating pag tutulungan at pag kakaisa” said the governor shortly after expressing his gratitude towards his predecessor Hon. Gov. Teresita S. Lazaro with whose initiative Laguna University was established on 2006.
In attendance to similarly express their support for the development of the infrastructure of Laguna University were: Hon. Vice Gov. Atty. Katherine C. Agapay; Provincial Administrator Atty. Dulce H. Rebanal; and Hon. Board Members Angelica Jones B. Alarva and Abigael D. Alonte.
Dr. Charlemagne G. Laviña, University President; Dr. Colegio S. Gascon, VP for Administration; Dr. Bartolome T. Tanguilig, III, VP for Academic Affairs; and Dr. Monette O. Bato, VP for Planning & Finance were joined by the esteemed guests to break ground and initiate the future construction to occur on the site.
