I ASKED GOD FOR THIS… I doubted myself from the moment I decided to run for presidency, but I prayed for it! I asked for His guidance and his will to be done. ‘Will I be able to do it? Will I be able to help my co-students? Will I be leader to this large scale of institution?’ I never thought of becoming one – a leader, and yet, He let things be done. I won the election. (Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me)
I went through a lot of things since I started to sit as the president of LU. Honestly, I struggled, and teared out every night. I have been a victim of cyber bullying that caused me emotional stress. I kept on receiving messages and notes, comments, judgements from my co-students. Telling me that I am not suited for the position. To that point in time, I asked again myself. I self-reflected and then asked God again. ‘Do you really think that I have the skills to lead’, yet God answered again. He let me continue to rule and lead. (Isiah 4:10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you, don’t be discouraged for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.)
Then I realized how God works in me, in my life, which He put us in a situation where we can see how amazing He is, and on how He cares for us. He shows us his love through people that surrounds us, whether they are your classmates, family, friends and even people who hate you the most. Thus, greatest weapon in life or on becoming a leader just requires us to have three things: to be happy, do the right thing and make God the center of all the decisions you have to make. (Philippians 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.)
“When there are two roads that diverge, always choose the one that is rocky. It will make you tired at first, but will make you stronger in the end.” (Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.)
Lastly, my heartfelt gratitude to Laguna University and to all the LUnians who believed and supported me. I am forever grateful to all of you for this opportunity – that God has given me; to serve and help each one of you to the best that I can. Godbless Laguna University and Godbless LUnians. (Proverbs 21:25 She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future.)
