College of Health Sciences (CHS) enlivens the spirit of Christmas as the time of giving and sharing during its annual gift-giving activity held on December 11, 2018 at Masico Elementary School (MES), Pila, Laguna. The event was participated in by pupils from kindergarten to grade 3 of the said school.
The program started with an opening prayer followed by the opening remarks of Dr. Monette O. Bato, Dean of the College of Health Sciences. A message from Dr. Bembol Samia, Principal of Masico Elementary School followed. He expressed his gratitude to Laguna University College of Health Sciences for the kind gesture of providing the said activity to the students of MES.
Ms. Jenny Monteiro a 1st year Midwifery talked about proper hand washing and its importance to one’s daily life while Ms. Marizol Dorado, Clinical Instructor of College of Health Sciences discussed the importance of oral hygiene. Lastly, Ms. Alexandra Apalisoc a 1st-year Midwifery student discussed the importance of eating nutritious food.
Aside from the lectures, CHS also prepared games and entertainment. Food was served to all the participants. Gifts for the kids were distributed by Santa Claus himself.
The College of Health Sciences, on the other hand, extended its gratitude to Masico Elementary School headed by Dr. Bembol Samia, Principal of Masico Elementary School. Special thanks to the hard-working teachers of MES for the help they gave to make this activity possible.
After the program, students of CHS together with the professors and the teachers of Masico Elementary School proceeded to the house of 2 students to bring packs of goods donated by LU-CHS. This simple act of kindness was very much appreciated by the chosen family
