Students from the College of Health Sciences attended a Seminar on Anti-Illegal Drugs on November 13, 2018 at Camp General Paciano Rizal in Santa Cruz, Laguna. The training- seminar started with a prayer led by Ms. Jovelyn Boongaling. Ms. Pamela Sutare, midwifery student, introduced the resource speaker in the person of SPO3 Arvin K. Cornejo, R.C.,M.P.A.
Armed with the vital information about illegal drugs, the College of Health Sciences manifested its stand against illegal drug use by conducting a one-day “IWAS DROGA CAMPAIGN.” The event was held on November 20, 2018, a week after the seminar conducted by the Laguna Provincial Police Office. CHS students conducted a room to room campaign with the objective of informing students, faculty, and staff about the ill effects of prohibited drugs to the body, to one’s personal life and to the community as well.
CHS students were divided into three groups, supervised by their clinical instructors ,Yves Angeles RM, Marizol Dorado RN and Jhonessa Layos RN.
Both activities were successfully organized by the College of Health Sciences, headed by Dean Monette O. Bato, and Prof. Edna F. Valenzuela, the over-all chair of the said events, in cooperation with clinical instructors of CHS and the Caducean officers headed by their president Ms. Maria Soledad Espanola. Caducean is the official student organization of CHS.
