Laguna University – The fourth-year students of Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BAC) led the Department of Communication’s first ever One Day Big Sale Bonanza, to showcase BAC students’ entrepreneurial skills.
This fund-raising activity was a big success and was attended by approximately more than 200 students and faculty members of Laguna University who said that they enjoyed the “student-friendly event.”
Despite of lack of needed capital, the Department of Communication managed to launch its first bonanza, surpassing its expected outcome which manifested BAC students’ salesmanship.
BAC students offered a great deal of affordable food, pre-loved clothes, and beauty products, but the stars of the event were the home-made ice cream and veggie balls.
An Education student said that BAC students should advertise their veggie balls not just inside the university but also outside its vicinity, adding that the “veggie balls should also be enjoyed by the outsiders.”
Moreover, numerous people also lined up for the home-made ice cream, praising “its affordable price and refreshing flavors.”
According to Food Stall Managers Coleen Abante and Jahziel Manalo, “We made it (ice cream) the day before the bonanza. Seeing these people enjoying our recipe makes us happy. We didn’t expect that they will love it. There was even a guy who bought three cups!”
Meanwhile, the Department of Communication assured that this kind of activity, despite of its focus on entrepreneurship, will not undermine the department’s main goal of enhancing student’s communication skills and exposing them to various aspects of communication.
The One Day Big Sale Bonanza is an annual activity of BAC students, but based on the results of the first bonanza, the department is entertaining the possibility of having One Day Big Sale Bonanza part 2 in December.
