The College of Entrepreneurship, Management and Accountancy (CEMA) of Laguna University held its 1st College Day on March 6, 2018, Tuesday at the Cultural Center of Laguna. The activity aims to foster the spirit of camaraderie and cooperation among the faculty members and students, in line with the vision and mission of the University.
The program started with a prayer and the singing of the National anthem and Laguna University Hymn. Dr. Norayda M. Dimaculangan, the Dean of CEMA gave her opening remarks by welcoming the students, program chairs and faculty members. She also acknowledged the efforts exerted by the operating committees for successfully holding the most awaited activity. Starting with the tag line: “Iisa kapag magkaka-CEMA”, Dr. Dimaculangan reminded everyone the vision of the college and urged everyone to act as one, not only in the future school activities but in everyday lives.
The QUIZ BEEsiness, was held in the morning. The first level was the Elimination round wherein twenty groups with four members competed. The first ten groups garnering the highest scores moved to the Championship round. The activity ended with the announcement of the third, second and first placers of the quiz bee.
The most awaited event in the afternoon was the search for “Mr. & Ms. College of Entrepreneurship, Management and Accountancy 2018”. Twelve candidates from the different the departments contended to win the title Mr. & Miss CEMA 2018. Minor awards such as, Mr. & Ms. Congeniality, Best in Talent, Best in Sponsors Wear, Best in Summer Wear and Best in Corporate Attire were also given.
CEMA Day 2018 was indeed a success for it did not only provide the students an opportunity to grow intellectually. It also highlighted teamwork and flexibility which are some of the “life skills” that students need in order to effectively deal with the challenges in everyday life, whether at school at work or in one’s personal lives.
