The Laguna University (LU) and the University of the Philippines – Los Banos (UPLB) officials sealed into a much-awaited mutual agreement and partnership through a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last September 26, 2017, at the Office of the Chancellor – Conference Room, UPLB, Los Banos, Laguna.
Hon. Governor Ramil L. Hernandez (Interim President) represented the Laguna University. With him were: Prof. Monette O. Bato (Vice President for Planning, Research and Extension), Atty. Antonio P. Relova (Vice President for Administration) and Dr. Colegio S. Gascon (Vice President for Academic Affairs). Dr. Fernando C. Sanchez Jr. (UPLB Chancellor) represented the University of the Philippines- Los Banos, together with the UPLB officials: Dr. Simplicio M. Medina (Director of the Office of International Linkages); Dr. Portia G. Lapitan (Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs), Dr. Serlie Barroga – Jamias (Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs), and Dr. Crisanto A. Dorado (Vice Chancellor for Administration).
UPLB shall exercise a cooperative effort to LU on human resource exchanges; i.e. faculty, consultancy, speakership, research collaboration, and related activities in accordance with the university policies and agreement with a validity period of five (5) years. This new partnership strengthens LU’s cooperation with local, regional, national and global networks of Colleges and Universities; and also, UPLB’s strengthened linkage with its local and national linkages which form part of the fulfillment of UPLB’s vision-mission to become a globally competitive graduate and research university that contributes to national development.
The MOU signing was concluded by Dr. Fernando C. Sanchez Jr. (UPLB Chancellor) handing over of the UPLB Souvenir to Dr. Colegio S. Gascon (Vice President for Academic Affairs) with Atty. Antonio P. Relova, Vice President for Administration, and Prof. Monette O. Bato (Vice President for Planning, Research and Extension).
LU and UPLB will look forward to a productive and wonderful partnership.
