“Nagpapasalamat ang inyong lingkod sa nakalipas na administrasyon… at ipinagpatuloy ko ang programang ito para sa kabutihan ng nakararami. Maraming salamat din sa mga naging bahagi at tumulong upang mabuo, magawa at makumpleto ang gusaling ito”, thus remarked the good Governor of Laguna, Gov. Ramil L. Hernandez, during the Turn-Over Ceremony and Blessing of the new 4-storey Laguna University (LU) building at the Laguna Sports Complex, Brgy. Bubukal, Sta. Cruz, Laguna on August 14, 2017.
Rev. Fr. Michael Brosas officiated the blessing of the new building right after the very first Flag Ceremony held in front of the the new site. The Ribbon-Cutting, headed by Governor Ramil L. Hernandez, together with, Board Member Ruth M. Hernandez, Atty. Dulce H. Rebanal, Provincial Administrator, Dr. Colegio S. Gascon, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Atty. Antonio P. Relova, Vice President for Administration immediately followed.
Atty. Antonio P. Relova accepted the symbolic key from Gov. Hernandez, as the manager of the new building.
The Department Heads of the Provincial Government of Laguna (PGL), LU officials, faculty, staff and students witnessed the historical opening of this new 4-storey edifice with 32 rooms which includes, aside from the classrooms, faculty rooms, audio-visual room, computer laboratories, speech lab and radio room.
Reactions from the students and faculty members were so numerous and gratifying.
“At last, we are now in a big building which is surely ours” one student said.
“Here is the answer to our most cherished dream, to teach students in a very comfortable and beautiful room.” Thank you Gov. Hernandez for your concern to the youth.”
Yet, the most significant thing that we should all remember is to take care of this new structure well, use the facilities properly, keep rooms and all areas clean and to quote the good Governor, “Para sa kabataang estudyante ng LU, bigyan ninyo ng malasakit at alagaan ang naturang gusaling ito. Patunayan natin na karapat dapat tayong tawaging isang unibersidad”
