As part of the college’ objectives to enhance students’ knowledge, skills and attitude as prime movers and advocates of health, Laguna University College of Health Sciences (CHS), in collaboration with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) conducted a 3-day training seminar workshop on May 27-29, 2017 at the Laguna Sports Complex, Bubukal, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
Aware of the fact that providing immediate and effective first aid to those injured or ill-stricken may reduce the severity of the injury or illness will lead to early recovery, the organizers of the seminar tackled during the first 2 days, lectures on Principles and Basic First Aid Procedures and Methods of transfer. On the third day, actual demonstration on how to perform first aid techniques to victims were presented. The demonstration was participated in by some selected students who acted as victims and others acted as rescuers and first aiders.
The training-seminar workshop provided the students basic skills and knowledge on first aid procedures.
Activities conducted during the 3-day seminar-training were provided by the competent and kind trainors from PDRRMO, Ms. Josiephine A. Baysa, RN, Mr. Mike Roniel M. Ramiro, RN, and Ms. Heiddy A. Goma RN.
Evaluation was done immediately after the last day’s activity.
