Four (4) faculty members of Laguna University College of Arts, Sciences and Technology (CAST), Prof. Marlon L. Atanacio, Prof. Bermar L. Idian, Prof. Chrisna L. Fucio and Prof. Joselle A. Banocnoc successfully passed their thesis defense on February 24, 2017 at Rizal Technological University (RTU), Mandaluyong, City. Eventually, they are now set for the conferment of their degree in Master of Science in Information Technology on May 2017.
Prof. Atanacio’s study, “Residential Flood Detection System,” Prof. Idian’s, “Document Tracking System with Barcode Reader for Regional Trial Court”, Prof. Fucio’s, “Laguna University E-Rizal Tablet-Aided Admission Examination System” and Prof. Banocnoc’s, “MY LOGS (Laguna University Grading System)”, were scrutinized by a panel composed of IT experts, Dr. Mardonio M. Agustin of Philippine Christian University, Manila, Dr. Arlene Grace C. Diaz, Program Chair, MS in Information Technology, RTU and Dr. Eugenia M. Yangco of RTU, panel chair. Two (2) of the four (4) studies presented by the LU professors were recommended for patent by the panel members.
Also present during their thesis defense were, the Dean of Graduate Studies of RTU, Dr. Edna C. Aquino and their thesis adviser, Dr. Luisito C. Hagos of New Era University, Quezon City.
Currently, Prof. Atanacio is the Program Chair of the Information Technology Department, Prof. Banocnoc is the Program Chair of the Computer Science Department while Prof. Fucio is the Prefect of Discipline of LU.
